Growth Mindset and Building Resilience in Students

Wednesday 19th June 2019 // Viewpoint, Derwentside Business Centre, Consett, Co. Durham, DH8 6BN

Cost: £249 (Exc VAT) 10% discount for additional delegates

A growth mindset is a belief that your most basic abilities can be nurtured and developed though dedication and hard work. Talent is just the starting point. Based upon the research of Carol Dweck, learn how students with a positive growth mindset create a love of learning that is vital for doing great things! Enable students to be resilient in the face of setbacks and to see setbacks as a learning opportunity on the path to ultimate success.

In this workshop, you will collaborate with each other to explore the characteristics of both the growth mindset and the fixed mindset.

Delivered by outstanding practitioners with track records of consistent success in his field, allow us to inspire your staff in maximising student outcomes by delivering effective behaviour management across the Secondary Key Stages.

The workshop will enable delegates to:

  • Understand Carol Dweck’s research and the potential that a growth mindset has in a school setting.
  • Plan, foster and embed a growth mindset culture with both staff and students in order to raise achievement.
  • Utilise a consistent approach towards a growth mindset culture with wider school stakeholders.
  • Case studies of schools that have embedded growth mindsets.

The workshop will be led by Peter Thomas, National Teaching Award winner and Secondary School Consultant for Teaching and Learning.

The workshop includes practical examples and resources to maximise student performance in this area. Let everything English take the pressure off you as an institution, and provide your staff with the best training available to support their development in your school and in the teaching profession as a whole.
