Child Protection Training

Dates arranged to suit the group // Viewpoint, Derwentside Business Centre, Consett, Co. Durham, DH8 6BN

Cost: Based upon requirements.

Recent shocking revelations exposing the extent of child exploitation, in combination with the high profile expose of key cases in neglect and cruelty, continues to highlight the need for vigilance to support and protect children experiencing any form of abuse.

As institutions who strive to give every child a fair chance at life, effective training in child protection is an essential part of CPD for all of your staff. We provide essential training in the recognition, recording and the provision of essential systems relating to child protection. The course will provide compelling and innovative training that will give your staff the confidence in this essential area of staff development.

The main changes to the Ofsted framework for September 2015 include a much stronger focus on Child Protection and Safeguarding. Ofsted are calling the changes the Common Inspection Framework (CIF) and this is for maintained schools and academies, further education and skills providers, registered early years settings and non-association independent schools. Their rationale is that this will enable them to compare based on ‘an equal set of standards and will ensure consistency and an improved ability to compare different types of provision.’ It is in everyone’s interest to ensure that child protection training is completed by everyone involved with children in your institutions.

The course will include:

– the most up to date information for safeguarding
– links to Ofsted requirements
– effective communication between stakeholders
– recording events and incidents
– formalising procedures
– information about where and how to get student support
– case studies
– clarification of the correct terminology
– the importance of an effective policy

This workshop will be delivered by NSPCC trained practitioners.
